Xtreme Reads Summer Reading is Happening!
May 17th - July 31st
Xtreme Reads is reading challenge for motivated readers entering grades 3 through 6. They will select books that fit a reading challenge like, "Read a Book Set In Another Country." Once they finish reading their selected, over 100 page book, they will submit their title and answer a question to enter their name into a drawing for prizes.
The more you read, the more chances you have to win.

Summer Reading @ O'Neal Library at City Hall
May 17 - July 31
Summer Reading is here! Download the beanstack app to start tracking your reading. Every 100 pages logged in the app, will earn you a dinosaur egg.
Stop by the library at MB City Hall to claim your dinosaur eggs and excavate dinsaur fossils. Once you find 6 different dinosaur fossils, you will earn a free book that you can keep forever.

Summer Reading Kickoff Carnival &
Thomas Hughes Brinkley Memorial Fun Run
Sunday, May 17th 3:00 - 5:00 pm
Join us for a special Summer Reading Carnival at the Crestline Elementary Fields due to the library closing for a renovation.
The afternoon’s events begin at 3 p.m. with the Thomas Hughes Brinkley Memorial Fun Run. Children and their grownups are invited to walk, run, bike, scoot, skate and stroll the one-mile course that starts at the Crestline Fields and runs through the adjacent neighborhood.
The carnival starts immediately after until5:00 p.m. and will feature a train ride, face painting, game booths, a rock-climbing wall, and a bouncy house. A visit from the MBFD to "cool off" all the kids will wrap up the party.
$25 Wristbands – which come with a T-shirt, while supplies last, and allow kids to participate in all carnival activities – will be available to purchase online. Patrons can also buy wristbands and individual activity tickets at the carnival. (All proceeds go to the Children's Dept.)

Family Night
Drum Circle with Get Rhythm!
Tuesday, April 14th
Dinner @ 5:15 Show @ 5:30
A communal, interactive drumming experience open to all. This gently guided activity allows participants to create music with neighbors. No experience required. This Family Night will be on the lawn across from the library, weather permitting.
Light dinner provided staring at 5:15 pm, followed by the show at 5:30 pm.
All ages with adult.

Tinker Lab: Everything's A-O-Clay!
K - 2nd Grade
Monday, April 6th
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
This month's Tinker Lab is all about clay! Try your clay-sculpting skills on a variety of activities in a range of skill levels. Crafts are designed for kindergarteners, first graders, and second graders to participate in with the assistance of their caregiver.

Jólabókaflóð: The Book Flood
Dec. 15th - 23rd
This Icelandic tradition of gifting books on Christmas Eve while drinking hot cocoa is celebrated every year on December 24th.
To participate, fill out the following form to help us select a library picture book for your family (one book per family) to enjoy reading together on Christmas Eve.
Pick up your wrapped library book and hot cocoa mix December 15 to 23rd. Please allow at least 48 hours after filling out the form for us to select and wrap a picture book for your family. The library is closed Wednesday, December 24.
