Sewing Machines

A Bernette b35 sewing machine is available on a first come, first serve basis, during open maker hours. The Makerspace has supplied basic sewing materials. All other materials brought by the maker should be compatible with the machine.

Requirements for Usage
  1. Makers must sign a liability waiver and pass a proficiency test conducted by Makerspace staff before initial usage.
  2. Makers inexperienced with sewing machines must schedule training with Makerspace staff.
  3. Adult supervision is required for any maker under age 12 to operate the machine. Prior to usage, both the maker and adult must pass a proficiency test

New to sewing?

Get started on our sewing machines in our classes or training!

Option 1: Beginner Sewing Classes

The Makerspace provides a free, 4-week course on sewing for teens and adults in which we will learn the basic skills required to sew on a sewing machine. Check our calendar for upcoming dates and registration!

Option 2: One-on-One Training

Schedule a one hour appointment with our staff to learn the basics of our sewing machines. Contact Sara at shardy@oneallibrary.org or Justin at jmorrison@oneallibrary.org for availability.
