Sustainable Style: Clothing Swap

Join us for a sustainable clothing swap!

In our Sustainable Style series, we explore ways to step out of the fast fashion cycle and answer the age-old question, “What will I wear?” sustainably.

At this clothing swap, you can refresh your wardrobe, share your personal style, and connect with your community. Swapping clothes is an eco-friendly, budget-friendly way to find new favorites while reducing textile waste and the environmental impact of producing new garments. Give your clothes a second life and find something new to love!

To participate, drop off no more than ten items of clothing and/or accessories and shoes, clean and in good shape, to the Adult Services desk on the 2nd floor ahead of the event. On the night of the event, prepare to “shop!” You can also donate items if you can't or don't want to attend the event! All juniors and adult sizes are welcome! This event is for teens and adults, so please no children's clothing. Have some extra hangers you don't need? We will also take them to use at the swap!

This swap is for all genders! In the past, we have had a small amout of GREAT men's clothes included, but would love to have more male participation. Please encourage the fashion-interested men in your life to participate!

The goal is to have nothing leftover at the end of the night, but remaining items will be donated to a local agency at the library's discretion. 

​We will not accept:

X  T-shirts (We’re talking the old frayed college tee, the random 5K tee, etc.)

X  Undergarments

X  Anything with a rip/hole*, stain, or heavy fading *If the item is purposely distressed, it is permitted.  Ex: jeans with distressing.

X  Children's clothing
